BulletProof Motorcade is the brain child of the only current member, Daniel Lewandowski. "I've moved around a lot and the past 10 years of my life have been pretty hectic. I've worked with other very talented people in other bands and groups but I would invariably get an itch and have to hit the road." His life has taken him from his birthplace in Detroit, Michigan to Greenville, South Carolina, Birmingham, Alabama to the West Coast and beyond. "Yeah, I think my travels have greatly influenced my writing... style and content, sure."
He has settled down since his younger days and now has a family and a more concrete location in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada. Having a renewed dedication to his art he is hitting the studio hard with four of the songs from the collection he has called "The Hatchet". "I called it that because the subject matter of a majority of the songs isn't really relevant to where my life is anymore. My music has taken a turn, for the better, I hope. So, I really hope to bury "The Hatchet" on that part of my life."
The first single to watch for is "All I Wanted". "If you haven't heard anything from a band called Wayne, now is your chance. I've been told this songs is reminiscent of their stuff. I take that as the highest compliment ever. Rodney is a brilliant composer."
Daniel hopes to have the entire album done by the summer of '11 and begin working on his next album. When I asked him what his hopes for his catalog were, he said he is hoping to get a licensing or publishing deal. "Touring the world really isn't in my plans right now. I don't want to be a rock star or anything. Those are the hopes of younger kids." His priority is to get the majority of his life story in music on "tape" as it were, for the benefit of his children. He sees it as an inheritance for them. The only thing that he can leave them that is of any real value.
