About Band

Aaralyn formed in the basement of singer/ bassist Kate Rogers' home in Plum Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh.  With guitarists Tim Patterson and Chris Allen, they recorded a three-song demo under the band name The Still Life in spring of 2006.  By the end of 2006, drummer Bob Rusnak joined the group and they became Aaralyn.  In less than a month they were asked to headline California University's Halloween Show and placed third in their annual Battle of the Bands.

In January of 2007, Aaralyn took their music to Gorby Run Studios (Coal Center, Pa) and recorded their debut self-titled album.  The E.P., scheduled to release on March 29th, includes six very unique tracks embedded between two piano scores.  While defining the album as an original twist on contemporary Indie-rock bands, blended with beautifully laid vocal melodies, Aaralyn creates a world where beauty and darkness peacefully co-exist.

The voices of beauty, sorrow, joy, and anger are brought to life in each of Aaralyn’s songs.  Lead singer, Kate Rogers, sings about her life, love, and various struggles of the past few years. Tim Patterson and Chris Allen, having worked together in previous bands’ Distant Future and The Bonds Are Broken, compose the wonderfully displayed guitar melodies and aggressive riffs, unique to the album.  Bob Rusnak completes the lineup, bringing the music full circle with some amazing drum and piano tracks.

Aaralyn has shared the stage with the following national bands: Spitalfield, The Starting Line, Thursday, The Space Pimps, Isadora, Bayside, Rookie of the Year, Demise of Eros, Allister, The Berlin Project, Punchline, Hope on a Rope, Nothing Unexpected, Paulson, The #12 Looks Like You, Camp Element, Pete Kills Pete, Over It, Park, Monty Are I, Teen Idols, Clearview Kills, Keepsake, The Fight, The Victory Year, Transition, The Distorted Penguins, The Mugs, and Tokyo Rose.

Aaralyn has performed at the following venues: The Rex Theatre, California University of Pa, University of Pittsburgh, West Minster College, Charleroi VFW, The Underground Café, Penn State McKeesport, Garfield Artworks, Peter’s Pub, The Hangout, Brentwood VFW, Club Angels, The Edge, Club Octane, Bloomfield Bridge Tavern, The School, Dragonchaser’s Emporium, Mozart Hall, and Various Skate Parks
