About Band
THE FUTURE YOU FEAR IS HERE
Activate Jetpack are a post-grunge, pop-punk powerhouse hailing from Canberra, Australia. Their repertoire is inspired by 90s grunge, modern alternative metal, sci-fi movies, and the video games of a bygone era.
Formed in 2009 by singer/songwriter Chaz Lewis, their self-produced, self-titled debut album was well-received following its release in March 2010. Independently produced music videos for the singles "Frenemies" and "We're Alone" both received airplay on Channel Ten's Landed Music show, and the band soon found themselves performing alongside highly acclaimed acts such as Thousand Needles In Red among others.
Two years on, now joined by co-writer & bassist Robbie McCredie-Dickinson, Activate Jetpack are preparing to release their second album entitled The Future You Fear. Featuring heavier guitars, more ferocious riffs, and a rejuvenated rhythm section, the new lineup has forged a more aggressive identity for the band.
As the title suggests, this record is littered with un-nerving thoughts, about the paths life may take and the underlying anxiety which accompanies that uncertainty. Whilst generally darker than the debut, their sophomore effort is not without quirky moments to remind listeners not to take their journey too seriously.
