About Artist
A gifted artist in every sense of the word, Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, and Performer Adam Jason skillfully blends unfailing melodic and organic pop sensibilities with a unique understanding of Rock and Roll in its rawest form. His upcoming album "FIGHTING GRAVITY" , is an inspired collection of songs that muse on life, love, and the pursuit of dreams.
A native of the South Florida area, Adam grew up obsessed with music. "When I was 11 years old , I heard Bon Jovi's "You Give Love A Bad Name" on the radio and from that moment I embraced Rock and Roll like some sort of religion." Adam spent years as a teen Singing/Playing Guitar and developing as an artist.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Adam transplanted himself from the Sunshine State, and enrolled at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. While in Alabama he performed in several bands which extensively toured the Southeastern United States. "I've played everywhere! Little hole-in-the-wall bars, prominent clubs, Fraternity/Sorority functions, and Radio fesivals with the attendance of thousands! I've played gigs where the stages were fenced in with chicken wire to prevent the bands from being pelted with debris. It was all part of paying my dues."
After completing 2 years at Alabama, the juggle of academic life and constant gigging started to take it's toll. Something had to give. "I had a decision to make, finish college, or persue my Rock and Roll dreams. Needless to say, I traded bar-rooms for classrooms, and book bags for guitar cases." Adam remained in Alabama for several years performing, writing, and recording. He recorded a debut EP "Anywhere But Here" in late 1999. On the subsequent tour he he performed with such acts as Edwin McCain, Beth Hart, Angie Aparo, and Drivin' N Cryin.
In 2001, Adam moved back to the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area to continue his musical journey. He played in a few groups before striking out on his own. In the past couple of years he's been named the winner of "94.9's Search For An American Rock Idol" and has played several shows with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Edwin McCain, Pat Travers, Skid Row, Flickerstick, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet, Confederate Railroad, Sugarland and Brooks & Dunn, and in 2006 became a two-time winner of Bon Jovi's "Have A Nice Gig" opening act competition, once with The Adam Jason Band and again with the band Ashley Red. "That was the ultimate!!! We (the Adam Jason Band) beat out over 100 acts to win the gig of a lifetime: opening for the legendary BON JOVI at our sold-out hometown arena (Bank Atlantic Center) in front of 20,000 people! It was the most amazing night of my life! There I was opening up for with my favorite band who inspired me to persue music all those years ago, talk about an amazing coincidence!" But it wouldn't end there...just 5 months later Adam would again be the opening act for New Jersey's favorite sons. This time as a member of the Alternative band Ashley Red. "I'd been friends with the Ashley Red guys for years. Since the Adam Jason Band had already been the opening act we weren't eligible to compete again, so I helped Ashley Red enter the competition and when they won they asked me to play the show with them! We played to a sold-out (5,500) Hard Rock Live venue, and once again I'd lived the dream!"
Adam is now gearing up for the release of his new album "FIGHTING GRAVITY." He looks forward to the immeadiate future which will find him in the midst of many adventageous opportunities including a temporary move back to Alabama for a stint of college performances, a possible European tour, and a relocation to Los Angeles.
What will the future hold? Only God knows, but if his past is any indication, Adam Jason will achieve the success many dream of but only few attain.
