Biography   

A.K.A: The Academic   

Allen Scott Levester was born in Carson, California in June of 1990. Early in his life, he exhibited a great love for music and reading. In 1997, he relocated to Honolulu, HI and found lyrical inspiration amidst the natural beauty and abundance of cultural diversity. By the age of nine, he was writing poetry, rap and other prose and demonstrated a firm grasp of the English language.  

 

After becoming frustrated by a lack of positive and enlightened rap and hip-hop music, Allen took-on the name A.K.A. (African Korean American), in reference to his mixed heritage (his biological-father is half-Korean) and began seriously pursuing a rap career.  

 

Allen’s first official song, entitled “For Humanity’s Sake©”, demonstrates his coherence of thought and keen observation of society. From beginning to end, the lyrics command attention to serious issues of today, with references to, war, racism and the ills of reality TV and the media as a whole.  

 

With several other songs in his repertoire, this Shaw High School Graduate is sure to make a positive impact on the rap world!
