About Band
We are a local band in the area of Rushden and Higham! We have been together since about the end of February and have already written a few of our own songs! We performed at the Battle of the Bands with our own single called Fly and will be returning shortly with many more covers and our own pieces!
'Actually the veiw from my bedroom window is much better........! But thats another matter. No this is not a cheesy chat up line used on girl with tatoos on their boobs, that have just down five barcardi breezers: 'The veiw from my bedroom window is much better.........' is the new EP from Just a Little Off Centre, shiny new rock/ indie band from Rushden/ Higham (they have big houses). 4, or is it 5 i'm not sure, guys that amonst some of the trashy bands around at the moment show renewed promise.
Wat better place to start than 'Meaning of life' this song truly makes you feel like you are on an ASDA shopping trolley hurtling down a really steep hill, wearing nothing more than a thong with an attractive lady on the front. The quirky riff steams along in this toe-tapping delight, while the simple but effective rhythm keeps the momentum of this track set to fairground attraction. An ambitious Fratellis like harmony adds depth and colour to this track and the whole song is bracketed by two melancholy yet beautiful piano pieces, used in much the same way as book ends, however not to support the song but to give it that extra bit of musical sophisticated
'Better For Me' a Jam-like track, again fully loaded with raw energy and some very sexy vocals from Jack Dereauaxuxaazxsxzx (or something like that) which are almost too beautiful to be compatible with these songs make this song into a catchy little ditty, all about finding the right girl and trying to persuade her to go out with you. Some nice little libs and accent notes in the chorus add that extra bit of majik to an aother wise superb melody. Good song, good song.
'Staring at Me': the previous song is a little bit too similar to this song to give it any real outstanding appeal, similar (yet still sexy) vocal lines give this track a sense of deja vous. However if 'Better for Me' (which ironically is better for me) did not exist this song would still be worth a listen.
Finally 'Fly': this song is about getting away from all the similarity and crap around you, which is fully undestood as they do live in Higham. It twangs of Artic Monkeys and added funk, with a funcky little guitar riff, underpinned by a bouncy little bass movement (almost, and i mean almost Flea like) from the man Lewis Wright. A tasty edition to their already delicious repertoire, 'Fly' is definitely one for the squirrels.
