The members of Aljadaqui are: Mariano Lantigua (Lead vocal), Roberto Lantigua (Vocals and guitar), and Jose Vizcaino (Drums)
Aljadaqui have received numerous national music awards in their native Dominican Republic; including the prestigious "Cassandra" award (internationally televised entertainment award show) as Best Rock/Alternativa group. Aljadaqui have shared the stage with the best-known musical artists from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico including: Johnny Pacheco, Don Omar, Millie Quezada, Toño Rosario, Eddy Herrera, Pochi y Su CocoBand, etc.
Aljadaqui have appeared on television many times in the Dominican Republic, including the country's most popular TV programs "Sabado de Corporan" and "Santo Domingo Invita" which are televised weekly in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Several of their compositions have become underground Latin rock anthems in the Dominican Republic and New York, among the best known are "Mentirosa," "De Medio Lao," "No queda mas," and "Si piensas volver," from their first locally released album. Aljadaqui's first album had a total of six # 1 hits on Dominican stations which program rock and all six singles reached top 10 on tropical music stations that normally don't play rock.
Aljadaqui are currently on the first leg of their U.S. tour. They have performed to packed crowds at ARKA Lounge, SOB'S, Mirage, View, and other venues. They have appeared on both Noticiero Telemundo's Morning Show on Channel 47 New York, and on Al Amanecer on Univision Channel 41 New York. Aljadaqui were interviewed on all three NY Latin radio stations Mega 97.9, Amor 93.1, and LatinoMix 109.5 FM. Aljadaqui will be featured on an upcoming segment of the nationally broadcast CBS TV program American Latino TV.
