About Band
Alter Ego is a Hertfordshire, based band. Consisting of three members; Vocalist and Guitarist James, Backing Vocals and Bassist Richard, and Drummer Darryl.
James and Darryl first met through previous bands, namely: Innovation, Children Of Insanity, and Disillusion. Meeting at secondary school, they spent 3 years worth of lunch time and after school sessions building a talented and tightly knit musical relationship.
James was in the year above Darryl, and stayed to complete two years of Sixth-Form studying to which he left with an A-Level in ICT. Darryl left at the end of his last year and pursued a college course in Business. These events leaded to the duo gradually separating as each others lives started to have different demands.
Towards the end of his A-Level studies James formed an out of school band with a drummer that he had met through his girlfriend at the time. After a line-up change, Richard was drafted in as the new bassist and provided a fundamental part in the team for songwriting, James and Richard spent many evenings trading ideas. This band met its demise with James leaving due to musical indifferences with the drummer.
With a taste for making music still strong, James and Richard needed a drummer, with the ability to meet the demands of their music. This was a job that James would give to no one other than Darryl.
