ANA

About Band

My name is ANA, I am the third child of five, three brothers and a baby sister.
Born in Stepney, London, on 23rd April 1967,
I grew up there until we all moved to Norfolk in the early eighties.
I had a deep interest in music as far back as I can remember.
Being a part of my junior school choir,
I remember an audition taking place for a solo part being performed, you guessed it,
I always loved to sing, from Abba to Roy Orbison.
A particular memory is of when I first heard Gary Numan's 'Cars'.
It sent shivers down my spine.  From that point on, I wanted to be a Rock Star,
bearing in mind I was only twelve at the time!  So started my record collection.
It consisted of more or less anything I could get my hands on.
But I always wanted more than just to listen. By the time I was thirteen,
I was remixing anything and everything.  It was around that time I bought my first keyboard.
It was a Casio MT100, or something like that.
As I grew older, my kit list swayed more to making music than remixing.
My kit got bigger and better with the ability to make music along the way.
In my late teens, early twenties, I made my living by dancing.
More often than not the music I was dancing to was produced by myself.
Though this music was made trying to keep up with times,
it was never made to my full capabilities.
I bought my first home in 1991, this didn't so much 'put a spanner in the works',
but I found myself working hard just to keep up mortgage payemnts.
I always found time to write music, but lost touch with times, so to speak.
Looking back now I think that was a good thing.
With no influences I found my own style.
Does it really matter if a sond sounds if if was made in the 1950's or the year 3000?
What matters is whether the song comes from the passion of music,
not how much it is worth.
I have of late set up a myspace page, introducing covers I did,
also a new page of my own music.
In both cases the response has been breath-taking, giving me so much confidence.
My intentions are now to produce an album, acquire a recording contract,
and maybe spend the rest of my life doing what I love, making music.

If my music can provoke an emotional response, as other artists' music has done to me,
then I am successful and have achieved what I set out to do.

My name is Callum Daniel Fox, born 07/08/89.

Music is what I’m most passionate about; everything I do or am involved in revolves around Music.

My main instrument is Guitar, which I’ve been playing since 2002. and by 2006 I had achieved grade 8,

My playing is heavily influenced by Musicians such as; Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Paul Gilbert

and many more as well.

The techniques I specialize in are: Tapping, Sweeping, and Legato.

I play all genres of Music, my favourite’s being Rock, Metal, Ambient, Blues and Jazz. I really love instrumental Guitar tracks as well, and this is what I’m keen to write when I’m older.

I also play Bass Guitar, and will be taking my Grade 8 in the summer of 2008.

I play the Drums to a high level, and have performed on numerous tracks, as well as played gigs,.

I can also play Keyboard to a basic level, i.e. All Major & Minor Chords/Scales.

I am currently at Norwich City College in my second year of a BTEC National Diploma in Music Course,

and am expected to gain a Merit/Distinction Level.

I took the BTEC First Diploma before this and passed with Grade Distinction.

I’m also a qualified Guitar Teacher, and am currently teaching.

I really enjoy doing this as it’s helped me a great deal as a Guitarist myself. I really love the sense of achievement

I’ve been involved in 3 bands since I first started playing:

·          Black Rabbit (Rock/Punk/Metal)

·          Guilty Of Deceit (Tech Metal)

·          This Land Laid Waste (Metalcore/Hardcore)

‘This Land Laid Waste’ was the most successful band I’ve been apart of, as we got signed by a Promotions Company ‘Black Eye’, got Sponsored by ‘Shine Drums’ and had 2 Record Contract Offers by Indie Labels. We also played the massive ‘Norwich Metal Fest’, where we released our Debut E.P for sale ‘A March Upon These City Walls’.

‘Black Rabbit’ was mildly successful as well. We won a competition in the EDP to play the ‘Kings Lynne Corn Exchange’, have been played on Pulse Radio numerous times and been on BBC Radio Norfolk for a live interview. As well as playing a lot of gigs around our local area.

I’ve played a lot of local Venues and Pubs, with these bands. All over Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge and London.

I’ve also played at a number of different Guitar Show’s, Street Fair’s, Charity Events and Birthday Party’s.

I was taught by the amazing Guitarist Andy James for about 3 months, who I gained a lot of skills and experience from. Andy’s since gone on to work for ‘Lick Library’, been signed by ‘Groove Yard Records’ and released his Debut Album ‘In The Wake Of Chaos’.

My most recent project I’m involved in, is joining the new and upcoming band ‘ANA’. As well as this improving my own Guitar playing (as ANA is very demanding), I’m also learning and improving on my own recording techniques, and how to work in a professional studio. This has been a wonderful opportunity as I haven’t ever had this much access to electronic instruments and recording equipment.

My goals are now more clearer than ever, in that, my intentions are to become  well known in the  music industry, with the determination of my band colleague we will succeed
