ANJULI STARS BIOGRAPHY
Stars in the universe remain constant and their place seemingly permanent. However, as bright as a star shines, there is that one that almost always outshines the others. A luminary cast down from the universe is now dazzling and on the brink of breaking barriers not only in the music industry but will undoubtedly impact the lives of many through her message and through her music.
“Anjuli Stars,” a 22 years old Miami native and student at Boston’s renowned Berklee School of Music, is well seasoned and is poised to take hip-hop to the next level; she embraced an opportunity to collaborate with Miami based rapper and TVT recording artist Pitbull, after he heard “Raindrops,” an original song she composed.
Pitbull, enamored by Anjuli's exceptional writing abilities and unique vocal style, requested to meet with her in early 2006. Since then, their collaboration “Raindrops,” is featured on Pitbull's sophomore release, "El Mariel." According to HipHopDX.com, “the track is given a great musical boost by the show-stealing voice of Anjuli Stars”
Her delivery is as smooth as the finest silk woven by a goddess. Uninhibited by the world around her, Anjuli is a connoisseur of music on all levels and continuously aims to hone her craft as an artist and musician.
Through her captivating live performances, balancing both her aggressive rap skills and sensual R&B voice, her talent has afforded her opportunities to open for Lil Kim, Young Geezy and Lil Wayne in Miami during 2005 MTV Video Music Award festivities. In 2006 she traveled to Russia to perform at the world-famous Jazz Q Festival in St. Petersburg. Anjuli is also a 3- time winner of the legendary Showtime at the Apollo in Harlem, NY.
This level of exposure is neither sudden nor by coincidence. Anjuli was first introduced to music by her father Pedro, a Latin percussionist/singer from Havana, Cuba. At the age of 4, Anjuli began sharpening her skills as a musician and performer. Anjuli learned to play piano and guitar at performing arts school. She constantly involved herself with school choir, talent shows and local performance opportunities in Miami. Ms. Stars then broke into industry by singing background vocals for Marc Anthony, Paulina Rubio and Laura Pausini.
It was after these key experiences that Anjuli realized she also had a deep passion for writing. At age 13, she started composing up to 5 songs daily and began to unearth her gift as a songwriter. She began recording this material, which played an essential role in the progression of her songwriting capabilities. Since then, she has composed well over 500 songs. In 2003 Anjuli was accepted to the, world renowned, Berklee College of Music and was awarded a scholarship in order to pursue her love of music on collegiate level.
Anjuli is determined to break through the “mold,” and showcase herself and talent to the world,
“It’s amazing when you actually start to realize that you are who you are for a reason, that alone will spark purpose and worth within itself. “
Anjuli Stars’ captivating persona and musical talent is just the tip of the iceberg. This singer/emcee/producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist has the capacity to take the music world by storm through the message in her music.
“My message is for people to love themselves unconditionally, regardless if they fit into what someone may portray as conventional or their own idea of perfection. If you're like me, at least one time in your life, you've allowed someone to step in and give their opinions, thoughts or ideas about who you are and how you should do things and it has dictated how you felt about yourself. The only person that you need to look to for belief and acceptance is yourself.”
In Anjuli’s case, the pavement is still fresh, upon hearing her music or watching her perform, people have become mesmerized, desiring more. Anjuli has placed a foothold in the maze that dictates one’s future. Embracing an enlightenment that will not come to pass, the music industry has yet to see such a shining star—Ms. Anjuli Stars.
