Apolica was first formed as a Rock Trio named "Blacktop 9" in 2004 by members Jonathan Clark, Jonathan Matthews and Melissa Underwood. They were later joined by rhythm guitarist, Josh Mills and underwent a series of different frontmen before settling on the original members, Jonathan Clark and Melissa as vocalists.
After undergoing a complete revamp, the band was dubbed Apolica and the band you know today was born. Their music tilts now to the melodic metal genre taking inspiration from such pioneering artists such as Iron Maiden, Kamelot and Sonata Arctica.
The band is currently writing music to strengthen their inventory and to try and drift away from an all cover song setlist.
The band were then joined by keyboardist Gareth Bowden and the lineup was completed
