About Artist
ARAHAT sprang up from the soil in 2007 as a result of various nutriments, mainly it was the will to do something with music and the lack of companions that made this single plant stretch for the sun. At first it was just a solo project, but more people came and went, some stayed for the ride. In 2008 ARAHAT began to collaborate with guitarist “Joey” from the German metal band Lambshift, and they quickly produced two new songs – “Sirens” and “the Tyger”. ARAHAT is currently an unsigned act, the music is produced by Thomas and Joey, who have actually never met each other, by sending each other files through e-mail. The drums in the songs are created by computer, so there are no “real” drums. Thomas does all the vocals, but the guitar, base and the computer sounds are done together. Thomas uses an 8-string LTD guitar and both uses mostly LINE 6 equipment. "Some have said we sound like Pink Floyd. I take that as a compliment. I had never listened to Pink Floyd before, but now I can see the similarities. The suggestive and darker elements are there, the socio-critical tendency likewise and the search for understanding in a time where much is unclear seems to show up in all kinds of different music. The music is the medium where you can reach an understanding on a intuitive level. That is my goal, at least, to break through so that we can grow and overcome. Become something new..." (Thomas) Although the lyrics is just a small part of the song some things can be said about them, they are mostly sung from the perspective of someone else, which means that they dont correspond to what the band thinks about something, they should be seen as a portrait of some sort of situation, attitude or phenomena and the lyrics tries to find the essence in this. As with all lyrics they dont always have one right interpretation, they have many. The band has never performed live, but who knows what the future might bring.
