About Artist
Asha Jassal born and bought up in the United Kingdom, music was my life from as long as I can remember. Father was always singing along side uncles and family members who would play the tabla. We would have family gatherings where I would take the opportunity to perform be dance or singing. Started singing at eight which led on to school and outside performances. I was always a writer at school my short stories were outstanding. As I got older I started converting my poetry into songs i found a singer to sing my first song when I was 21 but I didn’t continue the project and lost contact with her. This is when i decided to try and sing my own song and recorded my first demo. Once I had a selection of songs i released my first album some years back called 'Yours Truly' alongside a video with renowned producer Mr Kuljit Bhambra which I wrote and directed. After a long break i am doing my come back with two tracks called 'Night and day' ' loving you' 'Asha for peace’ and Hindi remix’s just to name a few. Asha for peace will launch on iTunes for Independence Day and world peace day September 21st 2008, hoping to release world wide to support two charities SOS and NIRVANA SCHOOL. You can view the new video on www.ashaforpeace.com.. I hope to visit many countries in the near future with 'Asha for peace’. but at the same time I will like to present myself singing in very different styles and cultures. I would like my voice to be heard in many different languages. Future plans are also working on collaborations with Asian and western artists in the U.K and abroad.
