About Artist
Born in Dublin, Ireland and moving to the East End of London at the age of 3, Ayla Skye’s musical journey began during her high school years, where she involved herself intensely in dance recitals and end of year music/talent shows. It was at the age of 14 that her true abilities where really first recognised by music instructors who “bullied” a very stage-shy girl into the spotlight, ensuring that she took on main harmonies, duets and eventually performing her first solo piece in front of an audience of 600.
Her performance and composition techniques were tuned during the final years of high school as she completed a GCSE Music course and continued to perform for the school in their English, French and Chinese choirs. Ayla Skye had been performing Traditional Chinese Dance for five years and, with a group of school friends, had begun performing cover-versions of popular songs.
It was during this period that she found herself dealing with some of her darkest times and, unable to cope, she gave up on the one thing that meant most to her – Music. Ayla Skye threw herself into her academic work, determined to finish college, go to University and leave the family home.
Not long before this Blueyez, a talented Musician and Entertainer that she had known since the age of three, contacted her. He brought Ayal Skye into the folds of Hatzoff Entertainment where her skills as a lyricist flourished and were continuously utilised within Bluesoul LDN.
Although Ayla Skye did not record with these two collectives, her desire and love for Music was re-established and the task of re-discovering the ‘artist within’ had begun.
It was an often, painful process that didn’t seem to be transpiring until late 2005 when the Bluesoul Pharmacy was formed, then under the name Cahri, she began the process of recovery and after re-inventing herself as the artist Ayla Skye and highlighted as one of the top new talents on the BSP Productions label, her recording career made a start.
