BackDrop is a three-piece New Pop Rock group out of Iowa City, Iowa. By combining explosive instrumentals with incredibly catchy melodies and hooks, BackDrop has created a sound that successfully connects with listeners of all kinds. In an age of computerized songs and more instruments than fingers on your hand, BackDrop is making music for reasons more than just to impress a record label. Whether it is through the stories behind their songs, or by hanging out with fans, BackDrop aims to do all that they can to make their music not for themselves, but for others.
With a high energy performance and the belief that nothing shows a band's musicianship better than great original songs, BackDrop has been entertaining thousands throughout the Midwest. On May 30, 2009, BackDrop released a five track EP appropriately entitled "The EP." The album was recorded and produced by Chuck Macak of Electrowerks Music Production (Britney Spears) in January of 2009. By playing out often and promoting themselves to the fullest, BackDrop has become a prominent force within the Midwest music scene, and with the release of their new album, it is clear that the band has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
