About Band

LEAD VOCALS - MORAIMA LOGAN has been classically trained since the age of nine.  She was second alto with the San Francisco Girl’s Chorus.  MORAIMA has toured Finland, Latvia, and Estonia.  She sang on three albums, recorded at George Lucas' Skywalker Studios.  Mahler’s Third Symphony, recorded with the San Francisco Symphony, won a Grammy award.  MORAIMA has an amazingly mature voice and interprets the songs of Deborah Barer and Gary Nelson with grace and depth of feeling. She sings in both English and Spanish.

LEAD VOCALS - NEZ B - Born Ernesto Browne on the island of Trinidad, Nez B is of true Caribbean flavor. His father is from the island of St. Vincent and his mother is from the island of Grenada. He studied at Caribbean Union College before emigrating to Canada at age 18.
Nez B has many performance credits. He performed with Miriam Makeba when she visited Mahaica Oval in his native home of Point Fortin, Trinidad. He performed at the first Caribana Festival on Centre Island, Toronto with the Experiments Band. After a military career,  where Ernesto performed with the Fort Carson Soldier's Chorus, he emigrated to California where Michael George, another CUC graduate, invited him to be lead vocalist in California's premier Caribbean band OBEAH.
Press credits: "Lead singer Ernesto Browne's charming accent and captivating natural stage presence are at the forefront, his bleating wails tracing the vibrant rhythm, occasionally backed by two guitars." - San Jose Mercury News; "The group's lead singer Trindadian Ernesto Browne has a sufficiently engrossing vocal style that Obeah can perform pop-reggae and hard core Trenchtown reggae equally well. " - San Francisco Bay Guardian. Ernesto's Sonoma County-based band ONE LOVE performed to an excited crowd at the Russian River Jazz Festival, with Randy Jackson on bass.
Every band Nez B has fronted went to another level of success, e.g. DV8, another Bay Area band. "Led by dreadlocked singer/songwriter Ernesto Browne, DV8 evolved out of his previous Bay Area band VISION. Ernesto fronts the band with a vibrant stage presence, finely  phrased grainy vocals  and a strong set of message songs, the band is one of the strongest local reggae outfits in recent history." - Derk Richardson, San Francisco Bay Guardian. VISION was founded by BASS CULTURE founder Gary Nelson, who was also guitarist and backing vocalist with Ernesto in DV8. Ernesto's first album, produced by Malcolm Cecil of Stevie Wonder fame, was never released due to management discrepancies. His second album TAKE A STANCE with DV8 was well received, and garnered critical praise in the press. DV8 and VISION appeared throughout California and Hawaii, including the Fillmore Auditorium, Zellerbach Auditorium, and Kaiser Convention Center.
Nez B is an accomplished martial artist;  he appeared with Chuck Norris in the movie Slaughter in San Francisco and on the popular Martin Show. He led the Atlanta-based band MYSTIC WARIYAH at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and at the famous Royal Peacock on Auburn Ave. in Atlanta, where many greats have performed.
Nez B's latest cd A BETTA PLACE on the Rasta F.L.Y.T.E. label, has songs that reverberate with a calm yet captivating message of Love, Justice, and Unity sung in the spirit of 'Word & Sound = Power'.  Through music, his goal is to reach and transcend positive moral values.
Peace, Love, and Jah Blessing. Enjoy.
