About Band
In today’s world of alternative rock sub-genres, Best Before Yesterday stands out with a distinctive sound that combines the best aspects of those styles. Taking influence from bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard and others, their music draws from the genres of emo rock, pop punk and indie rock. With emotionally driven lyrics, the melodies of pop rock and the energy of emo and punk rock music, Best Before Yesterday strives to create memorable songs with a unique sound.
Their powerful and energetic stage performance utilizes humor with emphasis on crowd participation. The band has played many shows in the southeast and the east coast as well as having shared the stage with bands such as The Ataris. Recently, they have been winners of 2 radio-sponsored Battle Of The Bands (1st Place 96.5 WOXL BOTB, 2nd Place Rock The Vote BOTB). With a strong and ever growing regional as well as national fan base Best Before Yesterday is gearing up for a fall 2007 tour. Their recent release “A Slow Turn” has already sold nearly a thousand copies just since its release weeks ago in June 2007 and things are looking even better for the upcoming months.
After a few lineup changes, the band now consists of members Colin O’Shea (vocals/guitar), Brett Maney (drums) and Robbie Thornton (bass). They know well the dedication and perseverance that success in the music industry demands; prepared for and readily approaching the day when they will actually do the unthinkable, and quit their day jobs.
