About Band
Big LeeK, Midwest G!
Born in the city of Detroit, the 2nd of 2 kids, Big Leek started out this life growing up in a drug house. Young Leek had plenty of trials and tribulations during, understand, his childhood. Many relatives passed away before the age of 10 for this ghetto gangsta. Tragically, Leek's sister was also taken away from him at the age of 11, which caused a total transformation in his life. The parents of Leek then decided it was time to leave the streets of Detroit, to get a better lifestyle for young Leek. 1st, Leek was sent to Arizona, in 86 to stay with an uncle, who had 2 sons of his own, both younger than Leek. Leek resided in AZ for only 18 months, as homesickness fell upon him after a visit from his mother in 88. Back on the streets of Detroit, Leek was determined to make it out by playing basketball. But running with the wrong crew prevented the effort required to do just that. Young Leek was involved in a few G.T.A.s, and other minor offenses, but fortunately was never caught and arrested. Then 1 day, Leek was robbed at gunpoint in Detroit, which again caused Leek to get shipped out the D. At that time his mother had just moved to St. Paul, MN. Both parents thought this was a place that was better than Detroit, but unknowingly the Twin cities were slowly becoming gang riddled. Leek arrived at the start of what was called by Leeks homie Kim Chi " The Great Migration"! GD's, VL's, Bloods and Crips ran the streets of the twin cities, and still do. Leeks circle was small, so as a hustler, things never looked as they were.
Being a rida in the streets, respect was gained.96, Leeks first child was born, and
as time grew past, things changed dramatically once again, after serving 6 month, and having 2 yrs riding on his head, and also the Homie (to remain unnamed for G purposes) was sent to the pen in one of worst cases ever. Given over 30 yrs for a crime thats normally punished by about 15yrs, gave Leek a message. No more dope selling, getting a job was the agenda. Soon after , Leek was blessed with a son, Lil Leek (coming soon). The home front became broken in 2001, as Leek went the single route due to wanting to move to the west, with no agreement from the baby mama. In 2003, he finally got his wish. His uncle helped him move, and after years of weekly run ins with the law, young Leek chose to move back to AZ, reuniting with cousin Young Tzo. Tzo was making beats, and cutting songs with his crew, Tha Money Fam. In 06, Leek decided it was his time to jump into the ring we call rap, and tell some of his tales from the hood. Still Locc'd to the heart, its in his Blood to stay close to his Folks & Family. Midwest bred, love from all over the Mid, from the D to Omaha, all the way to Ponchatula LA, Kept it gangsta. Not knowing he had the talent to rap, it was brought to light by Young Tzo, who is 4ever the reason Leek ever picked up a mic. less than a year of rapping, Leek knows his potential has not been fully tapped. All I will say is watch out when it is ! Looking to colab with anybody on some G shit!
