My name is Billy Brown, I was in a band called, Friends of Gavin, and was the singer/guitarist/harmonica and wrote most of the songs. We supported many bands such as REM, The Alarm, Boomtown Rats amongst many others. I left music and went on to a totally different career in media. In the early 90's I teamed up with Jimmy Brown (no relation) with his outfit, Orchestra JB, and co wrote a single COME ALIVE (you can find it on youtube) and that did pretty well in the dance charts, although it wasn't my preference of music, it was real instruments rather than sampling. I co wrote another tarck on his album TAMBOURINE FEVER (released on East West in the US), and played on 2 other tracks as well as performing backing vocals and harmonica on all 4 tracks. I have since started writing again, and UKCountryRadio.co are playing my new track, It's Been A Long Time this week on the station ... I am currently writing more songs now, and plan to start doing live performances very shortly in Hertfordshire and London.
