About Band
"With "Going to the Chapel, Gonna Get Buried" now released and eclipsing over 700 copies sold in only two short months, Black Sunday is just getting started. Without label support, booking agents, and very little support from even their own families, the band has reached an enormous amount of success in a very small amount of time.
After booking and touring several times throughout the midwest and east coast, the band landed a few dates on the 2006 Warped Tour.
"It only inspires us to keep writing, recording, and getting our music out to the people," Mike explains. "We really have come a long way in a short period of time and we aren't content. I don't think the three of us will ever be content...ever. We have a goal, and it is to play the music we love to write and perform on a nightly basis for the people that want to hear it. We want to take over the music world!"
The album itself was recorded in a 3 month span in Louisville, KY at Downtown Recording. The actual time spent on the album, about 6 days. Then the band chose to work with Alan Douches for the mastering.
"We like his work," Steve said. "We worked with him on our Caught Red Handed EP and he done a great job capturing the old Misfits sound we were going for. He works with great bands everyday, he was the obvious choice to master this album."
Black Sunday continues to write music and perform routinely. They are scheduled to open a few dates for the Smoking Popes, who are a major influence in the bands writing style. They are also preparing to start booking for an extensive U.S. tour for early 2008.
"We plan on hitting the road in 2008 in continued support for our full length," Brent says. "We just want to keep hammering it into people's heads and maybe the right person will eventually hear it and give us a break. We have some new stuff, top secret shit that we only play live and stuff, we want to record that soon for an EP or something, but it's all specualtion right now."
This band shows no signs of letting up and you should keep an eye out for a show if they play near you. Well, even if they come within a hundred miles, it's worth the trip. Don't miss out on them now, because not too far in the near future, Black Sunday will be a household name.
