About Band
Blak Dymondz combine Hip Hop/Rap/Reggae to bring a dynamic sound to the music scene. Both members were born in the West Indies. Christopher Connaught aka Radix, Grenada and Tony Burnett aka Malachi, Barbados. Radix and Malachi met in their first group, The Pipers, during which time they polished their Hip Hop and Reggae skills at New York's Buddha Bar, Club Harambee, Africa House, and Caribbean Dome. Their song "Charlotte" and music video was produced by Raycom and featured on ESPN during the NCAA Final 4 championship game. Blak Dymondz has also performed at Tropical Soul, Crossroads in Virginia, and Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Blak Dymondz look to Hip Hop innovators Eric B & Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Jay Z and Outkast when creating their soulful music, catchy lyrics and rhythms. Reggae icons such as Bob Marley, Barrington Levy and Shabba Ranks also inspire The Dymondz with their message-laden, melodic, and harmonic music. Blak Dymondz hope that through their fusion of different styles they will capture a diverse audience and create unity. Therefore they founded the acronym: F.O.U.N.D.A.T.I.O.N. short for "Forever of Unity, Never Divided, All Together, In One Nation."
