About Band
Blue Taboo was formed at the beginning of 2006 in a small home studio in the southern suburbs of Sydney. It is an amalgamation of many talents that came together by accident.The result of which launched Blue Taboo —a blend of blues and jazz that create a smooth style that could be described as ‘retro cool’. Their first CD, 'forbidden' was released in November, 2006.
K Beutler has performed as a singer/guitarist in bars and restaurants around Sydney and NSW. In 1996 she joined the Café Of The Gate Of Salvation, Australia's foremost a cappella gospel choir. She performed with the choir backing Powderfinger at the 2007 Aria Awards . With the Cafe, she has supported other leading Australian acts such as Venetta Fields, Doug Williams, Jenny Morris, Paul Capsis, Jay La’gaia, Jacky Orzacky and Tina Harrod. As a choir soloist, she has performed at various Jazz and Blues festivals including Bellingen and at world music events such as WomAdelaide and the Sydney Olympic Hemispheres Concerts.
T Neal has played lead guitar, bass and keyboards in many bands and has been arranging and writing songs for a number of years. After completing a music production course at the Australian School of Production and Engineering, he set up a home studio, and began producing his own songs and music. His first solo album by his band Sugar Daddies, entitled ‘Broken Down Again’ was well received with one music reviewer stating ‘Any songwriter will be knocked out by his talent.’
P Malone has wide experience playing jazz guitar and has studied with George Golla, Don Andrews and Ike Issacs. He has been a professional musician for over 15 years and has played extensively in rock cover bands and swing jazz groups. He has done over 600 concerts for Musica Viva. In 1994 he joined the Bushwackers and was involved in the recording of two EP’s “Billy of Tea” and “Bushwacked”. He is currently a member of Reel Matilda who won the Tamworth Country Music Festival’s Best Band and Celtic folk group Moondance.
T Keep has years of experience on Drums and has studied many different styles of Percussion from African to Latin American. He has played in bands such as Moondance, the Reel Matildas, who won the Best Band at the Tamworth Country Music Festival as voted by Slim Dusty and the Bushwackers. He is currently also playing with Hand Picked who have toured and regularly perform on cruise ships. He is an in-demand teacher for higher school certificate music students.
