Breaking Past was formed in fall 2007 with three friends: Andrew Scheuermann, TJ Mitchell, and Luke Berry. The band now hails from Gainesville, Florida, home to the Florida Gators, where the band has only just begun moving into the local scene. The three had already been playing and performing together for almost 4 years with the successful group The Breaking Point in the central Florida area. The Breaking Point, originally including the three members of Breaking Past, Alex Scheuermann, and later Christine Freese, can be found at www.myspace.com/thebreakingpointfl. Breaking Past emerges already having worked with a record company, played dozens of shows including reputable venues like Firestone, Dukes, Backbooth, Harley Davidson, and even Amway Arena (TD Waterhouse). Look for The Breaking Point in Devozine Magazine Jan/Feb 2008 national publication by Upper Room ministries, in which the group discusses their song In Your Footsteps, their mission, and also the future steps for Breaking Past. Look for Breaking Past in Gainesville and soon Orlando with a new explosive sound, all new songs, and all new energy.
