About Band
The band has been in existance since 2003 when they were formally known as The Crypt Kicker 5,but after finding out that a band in the states had the same name and were a little more successful,they opted to change to Brides of Kong.This line up consisted of 2 of the present members,Paul and Ant,with The Brass Warrior and Simon,but as time went on Simon departed and with lots of practice and no gigs to show for it,the Warrior also left the Kong!
Martin Joined first in the August of 2004,then shortly followed by Dave in the Febuary of 2005.This is the line up that survives to this day and is the one that is settled and makes fantastic Rock music on a week to week basis.
We are largely influenced by everyone and everything,I know this is probably a little pretentious to say,but with no main songwriter in the band we each get a say on how the music sounds and is shaped.We have a policy during practice that nothing is untouchable,so we are never not influenced by what is on the radio,but it could be said that we write songs that we like,rather than being swayed by what might get us noticed.
Paul is a huge 50's Rock 'n' Roll fan,Ant loves Metal as does Dave and Martin,but Martin,having been a child of the 80's likes all manner of 80's synth pop (gay)
The band is looking to expand its small but loyal following in London with gigs wider afield,and with new material coming all the time a second album should be commencing soon.
