Bring Back The Record
- Leon Stephens - Guitars, Bass, Drums, Synth, Production
- Ann Smith - Vocals
Bring Back the Record has been the brainchild of Leon Stephens for many years, but it wasn't until June 2008 that he put his idea into action. Leon has always been into guitar driven music and is heavily influenced by bands such as At The Drive In, The Stokes, The Libertines and Radiohead. During his university days, Leon started getting influenced by other kinds of music including Electronicia. This included a wide range of styles from Happy Hardcore to Techno through to Electro House. Leon started producing these styles in his studio but nothing came of it.
3 years on from university Leon once got back into the studio. This time it was to create a sound that had been in his head for many years. This was the sound of distorted guitars, big bass lines, dirty synths and dance beats infused together by a lead vocal. To achive this sound Leon recorded everything himself from live guitar to sequenced MIDI. By December 2008 Leon had recorded 6 untilted instrumential tracks in his studio. In January 2009, Ann Smith, a long term friend of Leon contributed vocals to Mr Mr and Bring Back The Record was born.
