The son of two hard working Jamaicans, Jordan R. Newell better known as Burna J. Born on September 8th 1987 in Queens NY. Burna J discovered his talent as a musical artist at the age of 12. He started writing and recording songs at the age of 14, at the same time starting a group called 'Diamond Thieves' in 2003, but the group broke up a year later. Shortly after his 18th birthday Burna J moved to Florida  The artists that influence his music were Buju Banton, Lost Boyz, Mase, and Beres Hammond just to name a few.
