About Band
Calendar for Preston , and their new style of alternative rock, began in Columbus Ohio in 2005 originally under the name Vinyl. By starting out as a “cover” band they were able to learn a great deal about the craft of song writing. Once they began writing original works they realized what they were capable of. Their unique sound has accumulated a wide range of influences inspired through the variety of songs they cover. Influences include Incubus, the Used, 311, Prince, Michael Jackson, Panic at the Disco! and many more. They slowly transitioned from Vinyl, a cover band, into Columbus ’ own Calendar for Preston.
In the two years that they have been together they have sustained a few personnel changes on drums and the subtraction of a member making them a four piece. The original three began with Stephen Jordan on lead vocals, Joey Sexton on guitars and Tom Gutman on bass and keys. Ryan Harris joined the band in late 2006 to complete the lineup. During that time they played over 180 shows in more than 35 venues around the Columbus and Cleveland areas. Hard work through two years of performing has given them great comfort and confidence on stage.
