Candy And The Full Moons are an original alternative pop rock trio from Newcastle that formed in late 2008
Our members include; Levi Dallen on Drums, Dave Hutchins on Guitar and Vocals, and Ryan Wilson on Bass and Vocals.
Our live set is engaging, energetic and heart-felt with influences from bands such as The Atari’s, Kisschasey, Biffy Clyro, Rival Schools and many more. We keep our fast-growing audience engaged, impressed and wanting more and our following continues to grow with every show we play.
Being passionate about our music and song writing, we strive to push ourselves as far as our talent will take us, whether that is playing at our favourite local venues (Cambridge Hotel, Northern Star Hotel, etc.) or climbing our way to much bigger things. Our sound is true to our own tastes and playing styles with a strong, dynamic and driving vocal melody accompanied by a hard hitting and punchy rhythm section. However we keep our sound, or genre fairly broad. For example; some of our songs will be straight out rock or punk, where others may have a funk, swing or folk vibe to it. In doing this however we strive to maintain our core sound, not stretching ourselves out too far, but also not plugging ourselves into one single style or genre. With the skills that we have learned from past band’s we’ve been in over the last 7 years, we know exactly what makes a catchy song work and how to translate it to both on the stage and in the studio. In a nutshell, when it comes to song writing our main aim is quite simple.... to just write music that we, ourselves would listen to and most importantly, to not let it see the light of day until we are all 100% satisfied with the end product
