About Artist
After a childhood brought up on Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Gram Parsons it is no wonder why Toronto based artist Carly Malone Smith sounds like a sweet late 60s alt-country songstress.
Before getting serious about music Carly decided that after college, instead of plunging into a career she would discover the world and travel - something a lot of 22 year olds lacking direction, worldly wisdom and informed judgment do. Half way around the world she thrived in her new surroundings, however seemed to constantly find herself in the most peculiar of circumstances, and it is these many unique experiences that she was lucky (or unlucky) enough to encounter that have been the inspiration for most of her songs.
Warm, memorable melodies coupled with expressive narratives leaving just enough to the imagination for anyone to sit back and reminisce about their own past.
