Charlie’ is a British-Maltese Artist born in September 1991!!!! She is currently living in the Med and having an excellent life of Music, Pantomime, College and clubbing with her mates. She is looking for a future in the . This is Her story….. ‘Charlie’… was born in to a Maltese father and a British Mother. Other members of the family include Sophie her younger sister, also an artist herself and “Lucky” the cat!! Her early life was dedicated to modeling top brand clothes… then at 5 she discovered singing at a karaoke party, when her dad embarrassed her with his flat singing and she went up to him, grabbed the mic and sang the song herself. She has not looked back since. ‘Charlie’ recorded her first song in a duet with her sis...... a cover called “Just can’t wait to be king” from the Lion King at the age of 7…Then at the age of 9, she traveled to Latvia where she won a talent contest whilst representing Malta amongst 20 countries. Then in April 2001 she was a key player in the forming of a Maltese pop band called 'The Young Talent Team' where she was one of 2 lead singers and with this pop group went on to win the Malta World Championship of performing Arts and The Malta Junior Song contest 2004. That same year, she performed live to a 20,000 strong audience in and 50 million viewers worldwide. After these experiences she was singing in all the best gigs including singing live for Her Majesty The Queen of England amongst others. Encouraged by these opportunities at such a young age ‘Charlie’ dedicated a lot of hard work in creating her own style. The love of pop / R&B was ever present and soon she engaged a professional British Voice Coach who has trained her since June 2005. With Miss Heather Baker, she studies the legendary American SLS singing technique. She also received intensive training by coaches from ITV London Pop Idol fame who traveled to for a vocal workshop and were impressed by her talent! 2007 was a great year for the young artist. After leaving the pop band for a solo career, she teamed up with the Islands ’ newest and youngest composer Sean and together worked on her 2 debut singles, ‘Last Day’ and ‘Crazy Life’ 2 songs which she wrote herself. Charlie also holds a passion for dance and she was invited by a leading dance college to participate in an important dance master class in , where she excelled by winning a scholarship beating 200 European students. Then ‘Charlie’ auditioned for the Christmas Pantomime auditions 'Pirates of the Mediterranean ' and here her love for Musical Theatre emerged. She was shortlisted to the final 2 artists auditioning for ‘Ariel’ one of the main female parts, only her lack of acting experience let her down. Her passion for singing, acting and dancing help ‘Charlie’ in Stage performances. Also during 2007, Charlie was one of only 4 local Artists selected to participate in The ‘Live Earth’ concert together with Italian superstar Marco Masini. From this concert she was invited to be a resident singer with The Big Band Brothers on the summer TVM program ‘Fil Pjazza Tar Rahal’. Singing with a live 12 piece brass band brought the young artist more energy and ‘Charlie’ was soon booked for the TVM program ‘Il-weekend jibda hawn’ where she has a resident singer slot every Saturday afternoon. 2008 gave Charlie a brilliant start. Firstly she was invited by British composer Mr. Peter Naylor for a song project in . Hence Charlie recorded the song ‘Cuishle mo croi (Beat of my heart). A few weeks later Charlie penned her latest single ‘He’s listening’ and teamed up with local producers Elton and Matthew to record her 5^th single. Not bad for a girl who has been a solo artist for just under a year. Great debut for her latest single ‘He’s listening’ when UK Radio station ‘Playradio one’ Head of Programmes, Matt Hollick playlisted the track as the song of the week and also featured Charlie as the artist of the week too.
