About Band
Charles "Chuck" Snow was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and grew up in a family of musicians. His Uncle Eldon was a cowboy singer on the Witchita, Kansas radio station WIBW in the late thirties. His father was a bandmaster for the 392nd Army band, as well as leading several dance and concert bands during the forties and fifties. His grandfather, Roy Snow came from Nova Scotia about an hour from where Hank Snow grew up so maybe there's some common blood there. Chuck's first band, called The SIDS was a "surf-a-billy" outfit, and from there he went on to form The Autono, a popular local and regional rock band that lasted almost fourteen years. Over the course of time he has shared the stage with The Beat Farmers, Brian Setzer, INXS, The Blasters, and Junior Brown to name but a few well known artists. He prefers Gretsch guitars and Vox amps, admires alot of the old country music singers, hates most of the so-called "New Country", and has a fondness for 80's bands such as The Replacements, Husker Du and The Pixies... A new cd is in the works with Kevin Waybright (bass) and Jerry Minson (drums) under the new band called, "The Fremont Street Preachers". Thanks for stopping by and we'll see you out on the road!
