The saga of Coldfire began in 1997 when five intelligent and creative young songwriters, all high school friends, had a common goal and got together to form what was then called "Sphere" in London, Ontario.

As the band evolved and grew in popularity, Garrett, a great guitar player with Spanish Classical roots, could not handle the famous and rich lifestyle that was beginning to evolve. He left to pursue world travels and now resides on Pender Island, BC.

Coldfire was beginning the enter a significant transition as the late Mike Krogman, drummer extraordinaire, decided to leave the band for personal reasons which still remain undisclosed. We began to search for new talent to keep up with the demand for this up and coming Rock power house.

Joe Bladek, Sphere guitarist, decided to take up the drums in 1999 and did so by picking up a used 27 yr old Tama Swingstar kit from a out-of-town high school Jazz musician. He quickly found his groove, and the remaining members: Matt Locke, Nat Postma, and new drummer Joe Bladek dissolved "Sphere" into the now ever so wanted "Coldfire"

1999 marked a milestone for Coldfire's career. Coldfire began touring the Southwestern Ontario circuit, making special appearances at charity gigs such as The London Boys and Girl Club, helping children achieve their dreams as well as other organized events for no charge.

In 2005, Coldfire lost their acclaimed Bassist, Nat Postma. He later married in 2006 to his sweetheart, Christine. We were again in search for a new member.

With such changes occurring in the band, their was an executive decision to move the band to Calgary, Alberta where the music scene was growing at an exponential rate, and a demand had made its surface from the West for the Southwestern Ontario acclaimed band.

In Spring 2006, Coldfire packed up, and moved its music production operations to Calgary. We are currently on our way to building a new saga along with a new, fresh and loud sound along with the inspirations of the Western Canadian Culture.  The attemp of making the band grow, failed, due to difference  of opinion .
