What started out as just a side project idea between brothers Neiko and Erik, has snowballed into one of Flint, Michigan's most substantial up and coming metal/progressive bands. Founded in February 2006, all members also belong to other well known local bands. Neiko (guitarist and back up vocals for Publik Parking) is the vocalist, Erik (drummer for Publik Parking) is the drummer, Ty (formerly of Downfall) is the bassist and back up vocals, and Rany (guitarist for Freewill) is the guitarist and also does backup vocals.

Convergence Theory is so named because of the melding of their individual styles into one entity of thoughtful, aggressive, melodic and heavy energy. Their sound is as distinct as their personalities. Neiko's vocals and the group's musical arrangements are so powerful you have to experience first hand.

Convergence Theory has already done shows with Wednesday 13 and Ventana. They have a 3 song demo CD, 6 song CD recorded live at Machine Shop, Video of  War. They are currently in the studio recording an LP.
