Corey Lee McQuade is a West Virginia native and has been a long time resident of Greenbrier County. His solo performances are energetic and emotional, from foot stomping clawhammer banjo, bluegrass banjo, flat pickin’ folk and country, finger pickin’ folk and blues to alternative country. He also makes guest appearances with Johnson’s Crossroad, The Well Strung String Band, and friends playing dobro and banjo. His original songs are inspired by old time traditional folk music and modern songwriters like Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, and Tom Waits, and are both works of fiction and nonfiction covering many genres of American music including country, folk, old time, bluegrass, country blues, and gospel.
