About Courtney Shirvani

                           I am a bit of a late-comer to the singer songwriter thing but Im so happy to now know this role!! I haven't always loved to sing and perform- almost the contrary! I didn't sing until I was 17 and I got a guitar for my birthday- ...however,
 I have always loved and connected deeply with music,
( I guess most people do) but for years I was more on the dance side of music than the playing. I really love God and bringing a song before Him and so only fittingly my first start playing guitar was founded in clumsily leading worship
. I now look back gratefully on this opportunity because it was such a catalyst in my life
 as it motivated me to improve, awakened a musical passion in me and just endeared me to my guitar. Writing songs I don't think started with an intentional effort rather it was like I'd be sitting in my room with my guitar strumming maybe a familiar progression or song and then words and a melody would come to mind and I would try to translate this and work it out. Jesus Christ is forever my hope and inspiration-though not all my songs are necessarily strait-up about God many are, and often I like to 'try' to wittily ground/tie my lyrics either verbatim or loosely to scripture/scriptural truth- haha and sometimes metaphor- look out lol!
