About Band
Crane was founded in 2002 by singer Sascha Mathys and guitarplayer Philippe Antognini who went to a period of musical disapointments in different rock-bands before.
The idea of Crane was to create a relaxing atmosphere on a popsong, based on a simple structure. There should be no limits on the musical direction or style.
After a few jam-sessions with keyboarder
Philip Henzi and other former band-members of the jazz-funk combo"jean-Pierre",the recording-sessions of the first ep took place.
"The legendary style ep"came out in 2003.
The style of Cranes music was classified by critics as sophisticated pop-music.
For the recording of the 2005 "november sessions" the band changed their line up and replaced the rythem-section of Simon B on drums and Chris Moore on bass by Thomas Wild and Mauro Zompicchiatti from the famous "Schmetterband".
The new single"Yellow fields", which was dropped out in may 2006, containes a beatiful string- arrangement, composed by Philip Henzi and played by Lorenz Hasler, member of the classical string-quartet"I salonisti".
Crane is still searching for a record-label to bring out the complete album of their
"November Sessions".
