Dan Carroll is an independent Singer Songwriter from Queensland's Gold Coast in Australia. Dan grew up attached to his parents LP collection via a curly chord. He distinctly recalls being drawn over and over to 'Band on the Run' by Paul Macartney's band Wings. That was just the beginning. He wanted to play the saxophone, but had to endure clarinet lessons to get there. He declined but through his fathers failed bass guitar world domination was introduced to the six string variety. Dan was fourteen years old and has never looked back. Dan Carroll collaborates with long time friend and drummer Jules Keshan. The two grew up living within throwing distance from each other and have evolved into the professional adult version of their adolecent musical ambition. Brad 'Bo Jingles' Hosking and Steve Whittington also call the band home, they're young guns who perform well beyond their years and still have the time and talent to make the Australian Cricket Team. Dan's current Album 'Hit the Low Notes High' was released in March 2005 on his own label Dusk Records and entered Australia's AIR independent top 20 chart in April. Dan has performed with a long list of great Australian acts including Pete Murray, Missy Higgins and Alex Lloyd. In 2004 Dan performed with Lisa Marie Presley and at the Big Day Out Festival. He made his national television debut on the Nine Network's 'Today' program. In the same month the documentary 'The Storm' premiered nationally in Australia, the doco featured Dan's music. In February 2005 Dan Carroll performed at Australian Music Week and contributed 'Funny Feeling' the AIR Annual Vol 7 compilation CD, a collection of Indepedent Australian Artists that was presented at international music conferences including MIDEM in France. Dan performs as a soloist and with a four piece band. The Dan Carroll Band have commenced pre production on a new collection of songs for a 2007 release.
