About Artist
DANTÉ
Singer/Songwriter
Singer/Songwriter Dante’ was born in Florida, and raised by his mom and grandparents in Atlanta, Georgia. At the age of thirteen, he became an aspiring R&B vocalist, with unlimited superstar potential. As the show-stopping lead singer of a group formed by T-Boz of TLC, Dante’ met industry veteran Debra Killings, who in addition to being a vocal coach, background singer and songwriter for TLC, became the group's mentor. The turning point for the ambitious singer occurred in1999 when his former industry-attuned manager took him to RCA Records in New York. His amazing demo turned into a full-blown recording contract, and subsequently Dante's debut album INFERNO. Predominantly co-written by Dante’ and Teron Beal (Brandy, Next, Mya), the deliciously diverse INFERNO CD offered five powerhouse tracks produced by well known producers such as Bryan Michael Cox with a feature from the Dirty South’s own, Nelly. However, due to unfortunate events in the fall of 2001, RCA's urban music division was shut down and as a result INFERNO was never released. Stepping aside to hone his writing skills and grow up some as part of the writing duo ‘The PenHeadz’, it is now 2011 and Dante’ is back with a new vibe. “My new music really tells who I am today." Dante’ digs deep into himself-- tapping into the time-honored essence forged by legends such as Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Seal, Lenny Kravitz and of course Prince. Dante's sound is a breath of fresh air. Succinctly put, Dante’ is an artist of integrity and innovation, who stands miles apart from so many of today's cookie-cutter-sounding young male vocalists. Unlike them, he takes risks and breaks molds; therefore, playing it safe is not an option. "It's important to me to stand out from the crowd," Dante’ firmly asserts. "As long as I can do what I do the way I want, and how I feel I have to do it, I know I'll be making quality music that can appeal to a wide spectrum of people for a very long time. And longevity is my ultimate goal." When not in the studio, Dante’ is modeling and acting. Dante’ can be seen on Verizon and Apple Computer Ads throughout the country. Additionally, Dante’ acting has landed him alongside Nelly for a principle role in SNIPES. Handsome, intelligent and down-to-earth, Dante’, an artist of substance, brings an intense delivery to the table, which has an impressive, energizing effect.
