David Alanson Biography      

 

“Music by artists such as David Gray, Donovan, Cat Stevens, Pink floyd, The Verve, and Damien Rice… These I would say are where my inspiration to write and my musical style has stemmed from”. 

Over the last two decades David Alanson has written dozens of songs incorporating lyrics that sum up almost every aspect of human emotion possible. Some, such as ‘Control’, tells the story of a heated determination to end the torment of domestic abuse. ‘When I said I love you’, a song about a lifelong commitment to a fated relationship and ‘Lady luck’, about the ever possible achievement of ones dreams.

These songs along with many others have helped him to develop as a songwriter and as a person. 

“Like most songwriters I guess, being a young wannabe, I started out by mimicking the great covers, singing into a dummy mic in my parents garage with the sound way up and the world shut out, longing to be walking in my heroes shoes”. 

David’s ambitions to succeed as a musician remain as strong as ever and although he has not yet released his debut album, he has compiled a CD single entitled 'Give it a try' which is now available to purchase.

When away from the recording studio, he has been working hard on promoting his ongoing live shows but has also been writing new material for future releases. 

“I just can’t wait till the first album is out there on the shelves because after all, that’s the single biggest achievement that an up and coming musician can dream of”. 

David’s music is regarded by many to be, on a personal level, highly thought-provoking, not fashionable but timeless, and above all, set aside from the mainstream. 

Good things come to those who wait, and if David’s live performance is anything to go by, then it will be worth all the waiting.
