In the last couple of years the Davidson Brothers have gained a lot of momentum in the country music industry. Hamish and Lachlan do many recording sessions and have performed on national and international television programs. Highlights include Hey, Hey Its Saturday and Good Morning Australia. The pair have toured with Troy Cassar-Daley, Lee Kernaghan and shared the stage with superstars such as Tommy Emmanuel, Kasey Chambers and Jimmy Barnes.
The Davidson Brothers award winning album, Stay All Night, was released in 2003. The boys have been finalists in the Australian Country Music Awards (Golden Guitars) for Instrumental of the Year in 2004 & 2005. They won Instrumental of the Year in the same years respectively at the Independent Australian Country Music Awards (TIARA's) with Orange Blossom Special (2004) and with their composition Hunter Valley Breakdown (2005).
The boys have toured extensively throughout every state of Australia in the last three years. The Davidson Brothers was selected out of 4400 entrants in Australasia as one of the winners of the 2005 Nescafe Big Break and Lachlan made the trip to Sydney to collect a $5000 cash grant. A few months on, the boys won a 2006 Golden Fiddle Award in Tamworth for Best Band Featuring a Fiddler.
The Davidson Brothers influences span from Bluegrass, Country & Western Swing. Hamish and Lachlan are renowned for their spectacular instrumental work on fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin. They attract large audiences of all ages and their high-energy performances, instrumental excellence and dazzling vocal harmonies stir audiences wherever they may be.
The most exciting news right now for the Davidson Brothers is that they have just released a brand new album (September 4th, 2006), which was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee. The record was produced by the very talented Mark Thornton, who also plays guitar in Jerry Reed's band. Musicians appearing on the album are Bryan Sutton (guitar), Randy Kohrs (dobro) and Dennis Crouch (bass). There is also a guest vocal by Travis List of South Australia.
