About Band
The Department Store Dummies were founded in August 2005 by two childhood friends, Jesse Fletcher and Jeremy Cummings. They managed to combine their alternative musical tastes (namely rhythm n blues and grunge) through their love for musical experimentation. They soon recruited Andrew Forster to play drums, and James Harrison to play bass guitar.
The band played their first gig in December 2005 at the Sleepy Hollow Blues Club, then located at the "Limelight" bar. They continued to play there for another six months, as well as perform at music festivals such as Glenfest and the Queenscliff Music Festival. The end of their stint at limelight coincided with the release and sucess of their first EP titled "signs".
The EP helped the band build a strong local following, sucuring performances at large underage gigs such as "RAW". The band continued to play at live music venues such as The National Hotel.
The Department Store Dummies have a busy schedule of live performances coming up, as well as the scheduled release of their latest EP.
