Frontman Matt Webb's pet project finally came to fruition in 2008 after 7 years of writing material on guitar and 3 notebooks full of lyrics. Currently slated for October of 2009, the first album "Pursuit of Happiness" will be the end result of countless hours of arranging and plotting out music that is both thought provoking as well as easy to follow in terms of content and delivery. 1 part social message, 1 part political cry and 1 part obersvation of post 9/11 life in America, Pursuit of Happiness aims to bring conversation back into the forefont of where we are as a society and where we should go next realistically.
Matt Webb has been involved in a large number of musical projects ranging in style and focus, usually leaning towards hard rock or punk. To date, Matt has recorded 1 solo EP consisting of 6 loosely put together songs and has also been in the studio with Honolulu based "The Crud".
An interesting twist to the album is how it's being done in terms of production. Recording in a Linux environment under Open Source DAW solutions such as Ardour and JACK Audio Connection Kit, Matt is a proponent of Open Source initiatives across the board. In that spirit, the album will be offered for free in 4 different audio formats (mp3, ogg, FLAC & WAV) under a Creative Commons license. This sort of freedom in recording falls in line with the anti-establishment mentality that is evident in the music and message that is produced.
