Finally, a female rapper with skills, swag,unparalleled creativity, and fellas she's not too bad to look at either! Born and raised in Atlanta Georgia, Donny Brooks first began writing rhymes at the tender age of 9 years old. She and her friends created a rap group at age 10 called the JawBreakers who went on to perform at local talent shows all over Atlanta. She's been rockin out ever since! Don't let her pretty face fool you. Her lyrical skills and delivery are crazy and yes people she writes her own rhymes. "When people ask me who writes for me i take it as a compliment because obviously they are impressed, but at the same time it amazes me that people think just because Im a girl and don't, "look like a rapper" I dont have the ability to write hot songs! I want to show the world that girls can rap, be feminine and still be strong", says Donny Brooks. Donny Brooks draws inspiration from artists such as OutKast, T.I., Common, Bahamadia, Lauryn Hill, Gwen Stefani and Fall Out Boy. It is therefore very hard to compare Donny Brooks sound to any particular artist out there because it is a hybrid of them all. She has the confident swagger of T.I. with a "girl power" mentality that challenges that of the Spice Girls! She is a fresh new face in the southern Hip Hop scene and has the world in her sites! "I grew up in some pretty rough neighborhoods and my family has been through a lot, but my mom taught me to see past current situations, believe in your dreams and fight for them.
