About Artist

Ed Harley was born in Barcelona, along the ’70 decade, surrounded by lots of musical sounds. Soon, his instict and attraction to the music, it takes him to blues and rock paths. This way, he starts to dedicate his time to study the sounds transmitted by guitars, blues harps and other kind of instruments. Later on, he plays at different bands where he explores the blues roots fusioned with folk music, in acoustic ways.

At mid '90, Ed Harley moves away from all his projects at that time, since he walks confused about its own implication in the musical environment. This situation takes him to think very deeply about the diverse kinds of communication forms in music. At the same time, he feeds himself on every single kind of sound and music, coming from all the pop/rock decades.

After that long stop, thinking about the diverse echoes on musical expression, he starts to reunite new ideas and sketches that, over this last year (2007) became his first independent record: “Doin’ What I Like”.

His sound talks us about the pure roots in music, with a very simple production based on clean sounds and instruments, and sometimes, raging acoustic guitars attacking messages about so many things we should think about a little more carefully: distrust, autorealization, irony, disconnection, nostalgia, ...

Ed Harley describes his work under the lines of “road folk/rock with dusty boots, and an old leather suitcase lookin’ forward to an unknown destiny”.

Surely, the only thing we have to know to enjoy his music, is to let ourselves go with our minds clear, knowing that everyone should be free to focus ONLY on things we really feel passionate about.

After all, it’s as simple as the message on the record title.
Enjoy.
