Formed in 2007 and hailing from the Gold Coast, Ethica are a five piece who will quickly be gaining the attention of the masses. With a collective mix of screamo, post punk and ambiance at the core of their sound, Ethica create a rapid-raw intensity that is truly unique, both musically and lyrically, making them a stand out on the post hardcore scene. In the winter of 2007, on the basis of four demos, Ethica entered head on into the live music arena. Gaining numerous support slots with both national and local bands such as, Mere Theory, Fifty Sixx and Repeat Offender, strengthening their already loyal fan base and further enhancing their emerging stage show. With the recent inclusion into the first Semi-Finals of the Toohey’s Extra Dry UncharTED Competition for 2008, Ethica are now focused on gaining greater national exposure and locking in a solid run of shows and national tours well into 2009. June 2008, sees the release of Ethica’s Debut EP entitled, ‘This Poison, You’. A five track collection, encompassing the emotions and turmoil of those near and dear, with the overwhelming urgency of youth. With lyrics both brutal and sincere, this debut EP from Ethica is only an introduction of things to come. It may be early days, but as it stands now, Ethica are shaping up to become serious contenders in Australia and beyond.
