About Band

General Description:

Final Coil are an art rock collective, a punk experiment gone horribly wrong, an alternative to...well alternative. They are the evil brainchild of Pip (Metanoia / Fudulike / Hellbrigade) and his demented, tree-hugging partner in crime Richard (Fudulike / Angrave). They play rock. Loud rock. Sometimes they play ballads. Long ballads with feedback drenched endings that make their producer cry. Other people have come and gone, leaving their mark on drums (Ringo, Martin, Pedro) extra guitars (J, Nikki), Bass (Roger, Lou) but basically it's just two demented pixies causing noise carnage. Check them out on www.myspace.com/finalcoil or just don't bother. It's highly unlikely they'll care.

Other Info:

Formed in 2000 by Pip as an alternative to his regular band (the late-lamented Endora) Final Coil started out as a flirtation with computer music (Nine inch nails without the talent) and then developed into a fully fledged band concept a year later. Working on his own, Pip recorded several eps and distributed them amongst anyone he thought may listen. Initially very metal, Final Coil became more of an experimental band when Endora split and songs such as "This love" and "Grrunje" were brought over to Final Coil.

Final Coil really started to be a viable propositon with the arrival of Richard in 2002 and since then two "proper" records have been completed (both subject to amazing budget and time constraints) - "Endless Lack Of Reason" and "Preparing for terror". Alas, at present Final Coil remain in limbo, lacking the funds to start work on the next record. However demos have been completed and it is certain that a new record will be done in the next year.

Influences:

Final Coil have a wide range of influences and, as such, their music covers a huge amount of ground, often in the same song. The main influences include (in no order)

NIN, Sonic Youth, Levellers, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Manic Street Preachers, Pink Floyd, Porcupine tree, Metallica, Faith no more, Fantomas, Blur, Butthole surfers, Guns and Roses, screaming trees, Queens of the stone age and Swans.
