About Band

Friends Of Heroes started out in September 2007. Danny and Oliver had finally decided that it was worth a go at making some music together. So after a 2 week stint of finding somewhere to rehearse together, they had their first rehearsal session. It turned out to be in an old beer cellar underneath a pub called "Under The Boardwalk".

After a few weeks they decided they should start looking for a bassist, without luck they turned to friend and guitarist Jenny Miller. Having not really played bass before Jenny did a fantastic job of standing in. Writing the first song, 'Sleepless Wings' with her on the 4 string.

The band then came across Ash. After a few talks Ash decided to come down to a rehearsal session and then permanently joined the band. Jenny then moved onto playing lead guitar and Ash took the bass.

After a short while as lead guitarist, Jenny left the band, due to not having the time to focus on FOH. After Jenny left, the band found a new permanent rehearsal space. The Attic.

After spending many hours writing songs, practising and fine tuning, the band had finally found their own sound. Fusing Oliver's powerhouse drumming with Ashley's heavy bass lines, they formed a perfect rhythm section. Laying over Danny's straight edge guitar style, it formed a deep, powerful and anthemic sound. Combining this with Danny's soaring vocals and Ashley's ripping screams, it added a darker edge and a versatility to the Friends of Heroes sound, giving them much more room to make interesting music.

After finding their original sound, the band decided they were ready to start booking gigs.

The first gig was played at the 'It's wired' event at underground club in Doncaster, The Priory. Many people turned out to see FOH in their first gig and support them, and they got a really good reception from the crowd.

The second gig was played at an all dayer, at 'The Boardwalk' on Easter Sunday in Sheffield. Friends of Heroes had the most fans there, and most definitely had the loudest.

After the Easter gig, the band decided that they needed to bolster there set list. And after writing 'Breaking Point' and 'Your Games' They then decided that it's about time for them to enter the studio.

In mid April 08 Friends of Heroes Recorded their first 4 track EP. They chose Chris Walker, at Remedy Recordings for the job, having heard his previous work they were very impressed and were looking forward to working with him. Together, they recorded the tracks: Home, Blinding Lights, Standing Alone and Breaking Point. They Spent 2 days recording. Chris did a fantastic job of recording and mixing the 4 tracks for FOH and they were very impressed with the standard of the final product.

Now with songs recorded and full of enthusiasm, FOH are looking to book as many gigs as possible in the upcoming months.

Stay tuned for big things.
