G-SHOCK

About Artist

Aaron Shockley Jr. a.k.a. G-Shock, is one of the newest and youngest Hip-Hop artist’s at the young age of 21. Aaron was born in Harrisburg, Pa on February 1, 1990. He was raised by his mother (Sonia Hunter Greene) and Step Father (Odell Greene), who worked steadfastly to instill in him the principles of hard work and determination. Aaron was always a bright smart kid. He attended Benjamin Franklin... Academic Prep school from kindergarten to 4th grade. After the school was closed down for renovation Aaron’s mother bounced him around from school to school to find a good fit for is gifted ability's in school. It wasn't until he was in high school that he found the stability he needed. He attended Harrisburg High School in 2004 where he developed a love for music. He had seen his sister (Latoya Hunter) who he credits a lot of his passion to, doing shows and recording music at a very young age herself. She had met many stars as a young girl, big names like Bill Cosby. However Shock just wanted to do music for the love and nothing else. As he quotes, “It was like a drug to me so I figured since I loved it so much I might as well make my own". It was very hard for him to get support for his music because so many people thought he had a future in another career field, Track and Field. He ran track since he was in the 8th grade. It only took him till 9th grade to have his break out year, posting an 800m time of 2:01.56 and being invited and participating in the AAU Junior Olympics in New Orleans, La. During his sophomore year he suffered a knee injury that would plague him the rest of his high school career and eventually take him away from the track all together. There was another type of track he wanted to run on, musical tracks. Shock always wrote lyrics to songs relating to his life and current events at the time. He has been doing so since the age of 14. The first song he ever wrote "Baby Girls Gone" had a smooth R&B feel. He felt that since the song and the structure of it came so easy he would start signing instead of his first love, Hip-Hop. He teamed up with another artist Young Shaherre (David Beard) and started recording in school. Although he got many complements on his singing, shock soon realized his heart was in rapping. Once Young Shaherre left school and started college, shock lost his passion to record and started back focusing on track. Even though he never got back to the way he once was, he was offered a scholarship to a community college in St. Louis. Before he could leave to go, his mother became very ill and he decided to stay home. That turned out to be a bad decision for shock. As he stated, "I got caught in the moment. All I can say is that I was living to fast”. At 19 with the support of his mother and father Aaron Shockley became Airman Shockley after joining the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Washington DC, where he found the passion for hip hop once again. Free styling with his friends for recreation sparked his fire. He would begin focusing on music harder than ever before, all the while gaining much attention from everyone on base. Then everything started going up once he met a friend and music partner BaileyBeatz (Eddie Bailey) from Tampa, Florida. He said, "I finally found someone with the same passion for music as me and We immediately clicked”. Together they began to start working on G-Shocks first mixtape "Flightline". While working on the mixtape and meeting new friends along the way he meet his current manager team of Polo Prince (Dre Simpson) also from Tampa, FL and Whitney Simone' a native of Washington, DC. G-Shock has recently dropped his first single from the mixtape "Jackie's Song" and it has gotten great reception from people across the nation. He has dropped the full mixtape on July 29th. "I hope that all my hard work will translate into success for me and my team and my city."
