-GINO J
Tastemaker Gino Johnson, Jr. goes by the name Gino J (Gino'574) when holding the microphone. He’s was a stabilizing member of the notorious Trucker Banging Entertainment group, known for their legendary parties, artists and business connections.
He hails from South Bend, Indiana, home of Notre Dame’s ‘Fighting Irish’. Gino J is not of Irish decent but has that same fight in him to become the hottest lyricist in the country. He’s a lyricist by blood…not relation. His Dad is none other than God Father Disk Jockey, ‘DJ Gino J’. Gino’s been honing his lyrical skills since adolescences. He’s blazed ‘mixtapes’ with veteran rap artists Fiend (No Limit Records), Bizzy Bone (Bone Thugs-n-Harmony), Lil Boosie, JT The Bigga Figga, Fat Joe, Calicoe Jonez, and The Boss Rick Ross!
In 1999, Gino'574 and Thrillapage formed rap group PRO-GIT’Z in Miami, FL. They were invited to Miami, Florida by Ted Lucas of Slip N Slide Records; known for rap artist Trick Daddy. Ted Lucas introduced young Gino to D.P. at the 1st Stringent Studio. D.P. signed Gino and Thrillapage to 1st Stringent Music as a rap group duo. Gino was 16 years old and the youngest member on the 1st Stringent music roster creating hot productions and song formats. While in Miami, Uncle Luke of the controversial rap group 2 Live Crew, gave young Gino and Thrillapage their rap group name PRO-GIT'Z after meeting the two at 1st Stringent studio. Rick Ross and Gino'574 also met in 1999 at 1st Stringent studio and Poe Boy-Slip n Slide Records. Gino and Thrillapage had to end recording the PRO-GIT'Z debut album due to Thrillapage’s unfortunate 6 year prison sentencing.
Never one to give up, young Gino then returned back to his hometown in South Bend, Indiana and reinvented himself as a solo artist. Gino'574 began working with 4penny Entertainment of South Bend, Indiana including DJ Gino J, Tony Taylor, Toni Ford, and Client Steele. 4penny Entertainment booked Gino as an opening act for tours including platinum selling artist and music legends such as Case, Public Announcement, R. Kelly, the late great Gerald Levert, Sean Levert, Ron Isley, Too-Short, Dave Hollister, Jodeci, Lil Kim, Lil Wayne, 8Ball, Twista, and Rick Ross.
Gino’574 quotes: “The strong move silent-the weak start riots”
