About Band
It all started with drummer Colin Robak and Vocalist Robbie Pruden.
At the time they had a goal of creating a metal band called "Beneath Nothing".
Colin Robak had been friends with a guitarist Alex Scott and the had jammed a couple
of times in the past but never got any serious project going. After a while Alex and colin Stopped
Hanging out and so the jam sesions stopped...
Later on Alex would go on to start a thrash based band with with a local
vocalist by the name of Jordan Guthrie.
At the time they were on the mad look out for a bassist as well as drummer.
They had tried out a guitarist named Jeremy. But he just did not fit the there musical taste of the two.
After that Alex would go on to meet Carey Lang (his girlfriends brother)
and would eventually come out and play base.
But Carey seemed to be a little of task and was not focused on music at the time.
After a while of looking for members and writing only a few songs Alex got Colin to come back into
the picture. And With colin came Robbie Pruden.
At the time Alex was a little uncertain about Robbie's style and aproch to the band.
He had more of a "Death metal" spin on his style.
and Alex and Jordan were going down the thrash road and they were not sure if they wanted to Switch.
But eventually It came to them that they can only be one vocalist in this group.
And on that note there styles were veary different.
So Colin chose Robbie as the new vocalist but Alex was veary unsure of that.
But after a long sit down he came to the conclusion that the better choice for the band
was to go with robbie as the new vocalsist.
And for there "Beneath Nothing" was born. they had a slow start but within about three
months they had already had enough songs for a demo. but no money.
So they were forced to use an old tape recorder as there first source of recording until they had
been givin a mixing board to cut cd's.
After many months of jamming in Alex's mom's basement they felt they were ready for there first show.
So Alex signed Beneath nothing up for a show with supernova.
At the time They did not know what it was or what they were about.
But they called back and they were givin there first show.
But they still did not have a bassist.
Until a week befor the show they found a yound bassist name Jessie.
He was almost three or four years younger than all of them but when he cam for his try out
and plugged that bass in and started to rip they were sold. and Jessie was in.
They had one week to practise so they jammed there songs so that jessie could get em down and
they also threw him a demo.
He came back two days befor the show and he had them all down.
So Beneath Nothing Finally played there first show. It was at Jet nightclub On August 28th
And they blew the roof of the place.
Not one band matched them for there aggression and intesety they brought to the stage.
After the show everypne was excited and eager to start writing new matrial.
And everyone was happy with the new line-up the had gotten.
But things wernt going to be perfect for long, because later that day after the show jessie gave
Alex a call saying he was no longer able to play in the band.
We were extreamly disapointed and confsed.
But Beneath Nothing pressed on. Auditioning another guitarist (Pat) and bassist (Lex)
but Lex and Pat were no match for there fast and heavy sound.
this Proved that they had progressed as a whole in there musical status.
They were beggining to get faster and more brutal. Truly living up to a death metal title.
But one thing bothered Alex.
Beneath Nothing wasnt that heavy of a band name.
and as he sat around many great death metal and black metal records
he was devoured by there brutal names and logos.
The gore and brutality of death metal. The Darkness and Satanic influence of black
Metal was Growing more and more in Alex and Robbies minds.
Thus making them want to sound just like there heros.
But Colin was fine with the name and wasnt concerned on a "meaningless brutal" name.
He liked beneath nothing and he was sticking to it.
But after many arguments and threats "Godless" would soon be the new face
of the local death metal band.
Although Robbie and Alex were 100% happy with there new name and many versions of a logo.
Colin began to drift away from them.
Lack of motivation during practice for a heavier soundwas gone form colin.
He was now more into the "modern hardcore scene" and there was no way that Godless was going
to change there sound for that.
So colin eventually left the group to find a different sound.
After Godless had lost there bassis jessie Robbie had taken up Vocals as well as base.
Since then they have been writing and have also been on the search for the right people to join the group.
